Very interesting development, although not final yet: the Crowdfunding Act has passed a vote in the US Senate. It allows people funding companies directly to finally become owners, as compared to models such as KickStarter that are “donation”-based – you can get rewards for the money, but not ownership. This article at TechCrunch and its 14-min video interview (embedded inside) with Crowdfunder.com founder & CEO Chance Barnett make for a great start to understanding the issue and potential impacts. While we’re definitely seeing more of a start-up culture in Brazil, it is still way too hard to do anything new here – while the US keeps worrying about making it even easier for businesses to start and develop…
