As the next Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett’s son Howard says that he has been “preparing his whole life” for the role. I see him and others in the Board, including Bill Gates, as stewards of the company’s unique culture – and that’s exactly how Howard characterizes his role. The separation of the roles of CEO and Chairman (not to mention the role of Chief Capital Allocator, so to speak) should make it a bit less dauting of a task, but still… good luck for anyone trying to fill Warren Buffett’s shoes. Howard Buffett had already been the subject of a 60 Minutes special, which I’ve posted to Buysiders in 2011.
