H/T to My Investing Notebook, and his emphasis on what Buffett says of Jeff Bezos is spot-on as the best part of an altogether interesting interview. Just yesterday I had read an interesting piece on how well Amazon Prime is doing, so this connected immediately. Some of the amazing success Amazon.com has seen must surely come from these characteristics Buffett mentions (the part about Amazon starts around the 3-minute mark):

1) “Amazon is a huge force in this world. I know Jeff Bezos and he will never stop.”

2) ” He looks at retailing, payments and even IT with its cloud operations as fair game, and this is a guy who doesn’t look at next quarter’s profits: he worries about where the company will be 5-10 years from now.”

As a consequence, says Buffett, “If you’re in competition with anything he (Bezos) might be thinking about doing, you better be thinking about it too”. Disruptive innovation indeed.
