CNBC has a very interesting series of articles and videos on what they call the CNBC Disruptor 50, a list of 50 “disruptors” in several industries, including Healthcare, Travel, Transport, Retail, IT, Financial Services and others. For instance, take Box – I saw a presentation by CEO Aaron Levie in San Francisco back in December 2011 and I was simply blown away by the service they were selling, and the presentation itself was awesome both in terms of content/ pitch and delivery. The other business model and young CEO to make this impression on me was educational giant Blackboard and its then CEO Michal Chasen – at a time when his company wasn’t even near its IPO and subsequent LBO. It seems like ages ago, but Clayton Christensen‘s disruptive innovation framework will always apply.

Any disruptors creeping up on your portfolio companies yet?
